Rooted Presence: Embodiment Training in VR

DESCRIPTION

A growing body of research points to the importance of embodied awareness in supporting resilience, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
I’ve been practicing meditation (one of many embodiment practices) for over two decades, and this work remains the anchor of my life. It’s a privilege to share this journey with others.

This free, weekly gathering in EngageXR offers a guided embodiment practice designed to reconnect you with your body’s intelligence.
Together, we pause to step out of distraction, deepen sensory awareness, and return to direct experience.
I’ve designed calming virtual environments in EngageXR to create a supportive setting for this work.

GUIDED EMBODIMENT PRACTICE

This is a 25-minute structured embodiment session.
We begin promptly at 10 minutes past the hour to maintain a focused and uninterrupted environment. The doors open at the top of the hour, and you are most welcome to visit me or my bot until we begin to answer any questions you may have about the practice.
Please arrive on time, take a moment to settle in, and ensure your microphone is muted before we begin.

During this session, you will be guided through a systematic process of tuning into different areas of the body.
This practice fosters groundedness, nervous system regulation, and an integrated awareness of bodily sensation.

BEFORE YOU JOIN

Prepare Your Space:

  • Find a quiet, comfortable place in your real environment.

  • Remove your shoes if you can, and settle into a relaxed seated or lying posture.

  • Kindly ask loved ones not to disturb you for the next 30 minutes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

New to EngageXR? Visit their YouTube channel for tutorials on hand controls, navigating in VR, and device setup.

If you arrive late, click the white button in the virtual space to activate a digital guide explaining the practice.

POST-PRACTICE REFLECTION AND WORLD HOP

You’re welcome to stay after the session for a casual reflection and/or gentle exploration of different VR environments.
These moments often offer a chance to deepen your connection with subtle bodily sensations and notice how the practice carries into movement and interaction.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

This practice is open to all — no prior meditation or embodiment experience required.
It’s simply an invitation to return to your own body, right where you are.
